A references to analog technology and the form of a children’s toy, Keepsake explores the symbolic nature of a set of tin can phones through a transition in materiality. Within the ceramic casting process the object undergoes a transformation, separating it from practical or playful use into porcelain The object becomes a fragile memento to what is once was. The translation of material offers a space to question the meaning of the object.
